in one piece.

When a shop closes or a building comes down, a sign usually goes in a skip. Ours come here instead, down the back stairs, to a room with no windows and good insurance.

Every sign is photographed, measured and lit once a year. Some go back out on loan. Two are promised to a museum. The rest are waiting for streets that want them.
